Every fact keeps a reference to where it came from, who recorded it and when.

Recorded values and events are drafted, reviewed and finalized as observations.

Calculated facts
Derived values are computed from finalized observations, never entered by hand.

Frozen company state
A period is closed and the state of the company at that time becomes immutable.

Explicit decision problem
The company states what must be decided, the objective and the constraints.

Action, experiment, proposal or monitored inaction
Candidate responses are compared on the same evidence, including doing nothing.

Authorized decision
Budget and risk controls are authorized by a member holding that capability.

The result is measured against the state that existed when the decision was made.
